We are delighted to have some our personal favorites from the shop picked by N.E.E.T Magazine for their September issue. Pleased to be paired with Vintage Bazaar’s eco-chic Lounge/Diner & the cottage-cozy Home Office of Post Road Vintage. Thank you, N.E.E.T!

When shopping for Pip & Estella, we usually leave the accessories and clothing to the mavens like Miss Modish but there are sometimes pieces that we just can’t resist adding to our offerings. Some pieces, like these delicate wire frame spectacles are just as influential as a space. They create a mood, tell a little story, make us smile or help define our identity.
This space was defined by one of my favorite rule breakers Miles Redd. The juxtaposition of picture frames, mirrors and flowers reflect a certain freedom in decorating that is rarely seen. We love it!

Meet Your Match: Creating A Calm With COLOR
I am itching to get back to London, but with new projects on the board and a wedding in less than two weeks, perusing the web pages of my favorite British designers will just have to do.
In doing a bit of browsing, I came across a home on the shore in Barbados styled by Suzy Hoodless. She is know for her unexpected style in textile and interior design. I loved her wallpaper collection, Hothouse so, that I covered the walls of our last Brooklyn apartment in it floor to ceiling.
Though it is a home on the coast, it is not entirely tied to a beach or nautical theme in color or style. We have the ability to create a soothing environment by pairing neutrals with chromatic accents. In this case hot pink and yellow do the trick. Just as calm as a room with blue or gray tones hues..
We’ve paired this weeks pick with our custom framed Vintage Archival Botanical Print available on sale here. Printed by Longman & Co, it likely originated from the Journal of the Horticultural Society Of London based on its production date.
Meet Your Match
Yesterday Marcia & Paul over at Zia Priven posed the question “Let’s have fun- What do you consider to be the worst decorating faux pas? Or most horrific accessory? Wall color? “
Our reply was -certainly wall color. I think sometimes we forget just how stunning and clean white can be. This example from photographer Emma Mitchell reflects simplicity in color and beauty in objects.
We’ve matched this room with our Wide Mouth Ceramic Pitcher which features a scalloped edge and glazed finish. Add it to a ledge, console or side table.
You can even incorporate a colorful vintage floral archival print like our “May Flowers” piece into your monochromatic space.

Working with a beautifully styled olive palate by Heather Thompson of Gathering Spriggs, the following ideas that can be applied to most any room. Check out Heather’s Blog for the best in shabby chic.
Style Idea: Colorful urns make unusual side table accents while one can never have enough throw pillows! Rotate pillows to keep your room fresh and inspiring.
Featured Pieces:
The floral urn is a visiting vintage piece from Vanessa DeVargas of Turquoise Los Angeles. 100% of profits from this item benefit Upward Bound House, a non-profit providing transitional housing facilities for homeless families.
The silk doily pillow in yellow is the last of a set found in Hudson, NY which is available in shop at www.pipandestella.com .
Happy Wednesday!
